My name is Lucie Gill.

I’m a resourceful and creative consultant with 20 years’ small business experience.
Small Business Skills…
Until 2014, I was Ops Director (for which, read “jack-of-all-trades”) for a Football Agency where, despite having close to zero interest in football, I still managed to spend over 15 years of my life.
I put it down to the challenge of working for an MD who is one of life’s true entrepreneurs – constantly with a new side project on the go, usually in an Industry utterly unrelated to Sport and always with some role for me, whether I had the necessary experience at the outset or not.
(This is why I also have experience in bookkeeping, management accounting, financial analysis and company administration. And where I learnt to learn new stuff fast.)
…with a Comms & Marketing focus.
But my main focus has always been on Communications & Marketing.
My degree is in PR and my job involved stakeholder communications, copywriting, pitches and media liaison. I’ve worked on flagship and niche publications, produced Investor Reports and written winning sales materials. Pitches I’ve produced have helped secure capital funding worth tens of millions and close the deal on lucrative contracts.
It was a 12-month secondment at a Design Agency in 2012 which got me hooked on digital marketing. I became passionate about the possibilities open to small businesses for quick, affordable growth using digital methods and channels.
Fast forward to today…
When I became a Mum, I joined the UK’s burgeoning self-employed workforce so I could “fit my work around my child”. (If this is you, it turns out this basically means “work all day and night”. Just so you know.)
Since then I’ve worked hard to build my digital skills – honing my copywriting to take account of SEO, learning and applying Inbound and PPC methods and building social media strategies for business accounts.

I’ve got bags of experience of writing copy that gets results. My background includes marketing and PR – traditional and digital. I’ve got a strong grounding in what a small business needs to succeed.
